![]() Weld the two together were going to be welding the channel to the vans frame once everythings in place. Except were bolting the steps to the Angle iron. Ok heres the fun part cut the channel the right length so it puts that angle iron right up against the body where the steps would in a ford pickup bolt on. Heres the cut out in the step well looking up from under the van, my lower quarter pannel was replaced by me with Alum thats why you see alum in the picture your vans will have body steel there (with any luck ) I payed a machoine shop $140 to mill slots in the top of the 5x5 angle iron and pre drill and tap 4 holes for the amp research steps arms brackets. Heres the brackets made from 3/8th 5x5 inch angle steel and a piece of channel. you need to do this on both sides the width of the steel brackets. Heres the front step cut out, i had to make to fit in the HD steel brackets. Van has a custom Road armor front bumper i custom built from a cool Kit to fit the van same bumper you can buy from road armor for a 2010 F 350. its doable tho as you will see in the next pictures. I made custom steel mounts to mount the Amp arms to as that way i can weld them to the frame and not just bolt the steps to the body. ![]() Pics to follow takes me awhile to post pics tho. The steps work perfect first time i tryed them, i thought i should post a thred on here so other guys and gals that have been told you cant do something could get a set on there van if they wanted. Its not that hard i dont think took me 4 days but i can only work a few hours a day. I will have to post alot of pictures i took if anyone is intrested in doing this to there van. Then i was told by many people you cant put them in a Van ! im like watch me. I bought a set of F 350 Supper Duty Ford AMP research power steps on Craigslist brand new in the boxes for $700 that was a great price there like $1700 + taxes up here eh. its a (IFS Conversion) which is what i wanted they cost more to convert but it drives like a regular van on the Hwys.Īnyway the vans lifted hi enough i needed some kinda steps to get in being im my mid 50s with a crappy back. I have a 1995 4x4 E350 van with a Turbo 7.3 PSD was and Ambulance for our logging industry on Vancouver island i bought it a few years agoi and am restoreing it.Ĥx4 conversion done by CLYDESDALE 4x4 in kamloops B.C Canada, they do fantastic 4x4 conversions even ujoint in the USA likes there work.
